The explicit footage, published by the Daily Caller on Friday, shows two men having sex in what appears to be Hart 216, the judiciary room. Aidan Maese-Czeropski, a legislative aide for Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland, was widely named on social media as one of the men in the footage.
Cardin’s office told Politico that “Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the US Senate”.
Reactions from various groups not only came from the general public, but also from public figures, activists and several members of parliament. A number of community leaders and human rights activists asked the authorities to immediately investigate this incident seriously and take necessary legal action if found guilty.
An official statement from the Senate has also been issued in response to this incident. A Senate spokesperson stated that they take all reports seriously and that authorities will immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations against a Senate Staffer. They affirm their commitment to ethics and integrity, as well as the safety of all staff members.
